VNC-Software Network Computer Controller



VNC is an acronym for virtual network computing. RealVNC remote desktop offers two products - a VNC Server and VNC Client. Used together, this package allows users to remotely access another computer from their computers and interact with machines as if the user were sitting in front of them. VNC can be implemented on the local network but can also be used to access other computers via the internet as well. Installing and configuring VNC server and client to talk to each other only requires a few basic steps.

This is what you need:

RealVNC See application

The internet connection on both machines

1. Download the software VNC to install. The software can be obtained from RealVNC. RealVNC offers a free version of VNC Server and VNC Viewer products for personal use. (See Resources). Both are included in the download package.
Install VNC Server on a remote computer products "computer to be accessed from the local computer.

2. Install the VNC Viewer application on the local computer "physical machine users to access remote machine.

3. Configuring the remote machine to allow incoming connections your router via the port number 5500. Another port number may be used. However, 5500 is the recommended default.

4. Set VNC Server on a remote machine listening mode. VNC listening to the icon that will appear in the system tray.

5. Discover the external IP address for the remote machine. One quick and easy way to do this is to navigate to the URL http://www. whatismyip. com / in a web browser on a remote machine. This site will automatically give the external IP address for the remote machine.

6. On the local computer, run the VNC Viewer application. Enter the external IP address of the remote machine to the prompt and click ok. A window will open displaying the desktop of the remote machine.

7. To disconnect from a remote machine, simply close the VNC window on the local computer. A prompt will display a notification that the connection will be closed. Click ok.

To access the machine remotely on a local network, use the computer name or IP address internally.
